Avani Kalutara Resort is nestled in a unique location where the Indian Ocean meets the Kalu River. It is packed full with activities and is a go to for both locals and travellers.
For this project we were tasked in using our unique Avani style to advertise the newly refurbished Avani Kalutara in Sri Lanka. To minimise down time it was requested to shoot this whilst the building work was still underway. This meant we had to get very creative with our angles. However, this did mean we had unprecedented control over how the sets would look as the refurb team were happy to pretty much build our sets to spec (minus a bit of building dust).
As a team we always endeavour to be as non-disruptive as possible. This project was a great way to prove we can not only do that, but also work with a hotel that was not yet finished.
The film follows two couple sets as they each experience their own versions of the hotel. One more activities and one more relaxation focused. A hero film was accompanied by shorter edits for use across different platforms. Launched towards the end of the Covid-19 lockdowns, the public reaction was amazing. Within hours it had received glowing comments with customers expressing how they couldn’t wait to visit.
